Need to receive money from someone in another country? No problem, transferring money internationally is now possible no matter which country you are in. It may raise a few questions in your mind such as how your friend will send you money, is there any safe and secure way of sending money internationally etc. You will be happy to know that wire transfer is the solution of all your money transfer related worries. Wire transfers help you send money from one country to another country. There are no issues or problems in wiring your money internationally. There are two different ways to initiate and receive wire transfers.

Bank to Bank Wire Transfers

  • Go to your bank and let the teller know that you want to do a wire transfer. The teller will help you with the wire transfer or sometimes he asks another employee responsible for assisting customers with wire transfers.

  • Firstly you will do the paperwork required to initiate the process. You provide information like your account number, the amount to be transferred, name of the recipient, the name and address of the recipient’s bank and the account number you want the funds to be transferred into. All this information may be filled out by the teller or any other bank employee. You will sign the form.

  • Wait until the teller confirms the wire transfer and don’t forget a receipt for your wire transfer transaction. The funds are transferred either from your bank to the recipient’s bank or from your bank to a third party bank.

Consumer to Consumer Wire Transfers

  • Western Union and MoneyGram are the commonly known wire transfer services available in most parts of the world. You better ask the person you are sending money, to find out the consumer to consumer wire transfer service. Once he has confirmed the transfer service, go to the same transfer service in your locality.

  • You will be asked to do the paperwork. You simply have to fill out the form requiring answers of a few basic questions.

  • Now pay the amount you want to wire and wait for a confirmation and receipt. The recipient can receive the money immediately or there may be a delay of up to ten minutes.

  • Let the person, you have sent money to, know that he can receive the money.
